Snow Flakes

A Snow Flake fell upon the ground.
Soon there were snow flakes falling all around.
Those snow flakes fell without a sound.
And soon they covered, the whole town.

It must be my lucky day as mid-afternoon I looked out of my window to see snow falling steadily, covering the ground and turning my world into that beautiful winter wonderland that I so love.

Actually, the whole day got better and better. We have organised all of the present shopping which is a big relief. That leaves the food shopping for tomorrow after which I'll start baking and cooking for Sunday's dinner.

Thankyou to those who have written and asked about my mother-in-law. We learned bad and good news on that front today. The bad news was that in addition to the broken hip that was missed a few weeks ago, she has also a break in the same leg just below the knee! Unbelievable! That's her ankle, knee and hip requiring plaster. The good news is that having wrapped her lower part up like a mummy, she is allowed to recuperate in her own home. It's well set up already and she has home help and I know that she'll be much happier surrounded by her own things.

And she can come for Christmas! I feel like I have my best Christmas gift already - snow and the knowledge that three generations of the family will be gathered in the same place for Julafton.

Comments:
Goodness, your poor mother-in-law. She must have been suffering some major pain !! Hope it all mends quickly.
You sound very organised ... I have most of my pressie shopping done ... only need a couple boxes of chockies, and will do food shopping tomorrow night. Don't need to do any Christmas cooking, as we go to my parents for Christmas Eve (which is our Christmas). Then Christmas Day, we head off on holidays !!! Of course, Santa has made his visits, and my daughter has her presents in the morning.
Oh, hope you don't mind, I've tagged you ... drop on by and see what. SOrry if you've done this one before.
Take care, chat soon ... Meow

Oh your mother-in-law sounds like she has had a rough way to go lately. I am so sorry. Please tell her the people out in blogland are praying for a speedy recovery.

Hope you have a wonderful holiday with your family.

Hugs,
Connie

Oh, the poor woman! But at least she'll be home in time for the silly season.

Have a great one, Marie!

How awful for your mother-in-law. I hope she feels much, much better soon.

I wish you and all your family god jul och gott nyttår.

You are so lucky to have snow! I wish you and your fanily a happy and peaceful Christmas.

No snow here, just lots of fog. Of course that's just as bad for drivers and people out in it.
Your poor M-I-L. Definitely something you don't need before Christmas, eh?

I´m happy that you get along with your mother-in-law. Hope she has a nice and comfortable Christmas. All the best to you and your Swedish hubby too! I love the photos from your last post, magical!

Thankyou for all of your lovely words and thoughts.

I should explain that Evy is not in any pain. She broke her neck in an accident twenty six years ago and thus has no feeling in her body from the chest down.

I suppose as she had no pain and is unable to walk, then the doctors were a bit slack when they first examined her several weeks ago. Still, when an 79 year old woman is brought in after a fall, you would think they'd examine her for breakages as many elderly women have brittle bones.

Still, it's water under the bridge now and we will leave it behind us and move on, looking forward to making this a Christmas to remember for her.
