Taking Autographs now...

Our little dog has suddenly become famous - at least among those who tune in to Australians Abroad.

People on the site often read this blog, so over time they have got to know Lambi and there have been a few laughs over things like the fact that she is seemingly named after toilet paper. People ask me why we carry her around, can she walk by herself and if she is as incorrigible as we make out (she is!).

Quite apart from Lambi, there had also been a discussion about that annoying German song about a crocodile - The Schnappi Song (click at your peril - it is IMPOSSIBLE to get out of your head!)

So one of the clever Aussies (also based in Sweden) wrote a song to the same tune, but starring our very own Lambi. Her song was:

I am Lambi, the little fluffy dog
named after paper, the kind used in the bog
I am a sailor, so I wear a little vest
In case I slip off, it really is the best.

Lä Le Lambi, Lambi Lambi Lambi
Lä Le Lambi, Lambi Lambi Lambi

When it is windy, my ears are flapping free
So when on board, I try to sit in lee
And when it's stormy, it's scary don't you know!
So when it's hairy, I take myself below

Lä Le Lambi, Lambi Lambi Lambi...

I don't like walking, my legs are very short
But I still like it when we get out and about
So mummy puts me in her lovely black backpack
And then I'm happy to go far down any track...

Lä Le Lambi, Lambi Lambi Lambi...

As you can imagine - it became an instant website hit, so much so that it has now spawned a T-Shirt that is selling like hotcakes (I kid you not!)

If you want your, it can be ordered here. Is there no limit to what people will buy?

As we had several errands to perform in Stockholm, we decided to go along and pay a visit to the song composer in her gorgeous waterside apartment at Hammarby Sjöstad. How would you like to wake up to this view every morning - not bad, is it?

Justine was absolutely delighted to meet Lambi and to celebrate this historic visit, she was even wearing her Lambi t-shirt. There was a scrumptious morning tea prepared, though with only two types of pastries, rather than the traditional seven types that one would have expected for such illustrious visitors. She threw a tea towel at me when I said that. I wonder why? I was only trying to help her out with Swedish culture and EVERYONE knows the sju sorts kakor rule, don't they? *grin*

We even managed to convince HRH Lambi to pose for a shot with Justine.

Though I think the lure of food is what is keeping her firmly glued to Justine's lap. Just look at that intense stare as she desperately tries to will that piece of danish pastry to teleport itself to her waiting tummy.

Autographs, anyone?
